The Proton FL Hoody is a minimalistic softshell jacket that’s ideal for spring and summer usage, whether out in the wilderness or on the city streets.
The outer surface is made from a robust, weather-resistant fabric called Fortius Air 20, offering wind protection and standing up to light showers.
Underneath that, the Proton FL boasts a thin yet effective layer of Octa Loft insulation – so it functions well as a middle layer in the colder months.
The ‘FL’ in the name stands for ‘fast and light’ – a specification that Arc’teryx has designed for high performance while minimising both weight and bulk.
Crucially, it’s a highly breathable jacket, guaranteeing a certain level of comfort no matter what time of year or what the conditions. The athletic fit gives it a great standalone look, while also enabling easy layering over the top. The hip-length cut means you’ll have full mobility at pace, whether striding up a mountain, hurrying to the train station or running errands in town.
